Fave Five

Happy Friday! That means it's time for Friday Fave Five! I really enjoy this blog post because it makes me see the good things that happened this week. Not the cold, gray, rainy days or the list of things that hasn't been done. Hop over to Living to Tell the Story for all the details. I'm also joining the Blog Hop at Home Sanctuary for Company Girl Coffee. So grab a cup of (insert favorite beverage here) and let's visit! Don't forget to leave a comment so I can come visit you too!

#1 Semi-Homemade Chicken and Dumplings. Yesterday was cold and rainy (yuck!). It was a perfect night for comfort food. The chicken simmered most of the afternoon making the house smell wonderful. Bean even helped me with the dumplings!

#2 Quilting. On Thursday nights a few ladies get together to quilt. Some nights we even get some quilting done between the stories, laughing, and encouraging each other.

#3, 4 and 5 Color. The walls are (mostly) painted! The living room finally feels like we live here!

Quilting groups are so often just as much about the laughter as the actual quilting.

Color makes such a difference, doesn't it? And it is a relatively easy and cheap pick-me-up for when the room starts looking blah. yay for feeling more settled!

You just reminded me I really need to get started on a quilt - my first one. I have all the materials but haven't done anything yet!

Have a lovely weekend,
Jade

Wow, haven't even thought about chicken and dumplings for awhile. Now I'm hungry for them!

I love a room after it's been freshly painted! Color just really makes a home. Congrats on feeling more settled in!

I love chicken and dumplings. Yummy.

Love the color of your living room. It's the colors I love to "live" in.

Chicken and dumplings sound so good right now!

I've only ever done one group quilt (actually, that was the only quilt I've done, period) as a special gift for a former pastor and his wife. It was such fun -- both the quilting and the fellowship.

Yay for color! We just moved in August and our new house has all beige walls. I have no idea what I want to do with it yet. Our previous two houses were pretty heavily wallpapered, so I am enjoying a simpler background, but I do want some color in here at some point. It makes it feel so personal and homey.

all this quilting going on! is it catching on, becoming popular? or am i just noticing it everywhere? i'm interested in learning... but it seems so daunting!

Laughing about #2. I used to be in a sewing club that was a lot like that. I think we all eventually decided to forgo the sewing and just make it a "lunch club."

Oh, I love a freshly painted room! Love your color palette.

I would love to learn to quilt, maybe someday...Now, chicken and dumplins...I am all about that! Sounds pretty good on a cool night like tonight!

There really is just something about getting color on the walls, isn't there!

Have a great weekend!

I have never had chicken and dumplings, I don't think it is something my husbands family is accustomed to. I will have to research it some and see what it is.
Some friends of mine and I have been thinking of having a craft group once a month or so. I might have to get it started soon.
I love painting and seing the transformation, the only thing is when I can't find the right color or when I get too scared that I will pick the wrong color. It just gets so hard sometimes.
I love your list.
Thank you for sharing and have a good weekend.

This reminded me of my lovely Teacher's Lounge group of friends that I meet with once a month. When I was wavering about coming, they called and asked where I was. I went. It was nice to wanted by both my family and my friends. Thanks for the reminder of the lovely things in my week in the midst of lots of hustle and bustle.

Seems like everyone is painting: you and Faith ... and my husband is starting to paint our bedroom today. Yours turned out great!

Chicken and dumplings sounds like perfect comfort food.

Man, you reminded me I should be using by little guys downtime to cut my quilt pieces! It would be nice to reach my craft goal for the weekend so I'd best get started! (The Chicken and Dumplings sounds divine!)

We were definitely about the comfort food this week. Some sniffles snuck up on my little one, and had some chicken noodle soup. That was really the only thing she had an appetite for. And yay for freshly painted walls. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I love that you have a quilting group! I quilt but I do not have "in real life" friends who do. What a treasure!
