Happy Friday! Today I am participating in two Friday blogs. The first is Friday Fave Five hosted by Suzanne at Living to Tell the Story. The idea is to look back over the past week and pick your five favorite things. The second is Company Girl Coffee hosted by Rachel Anne at Home Sanctuary. It is an opportunity to meet with other Company Girls and catch up. This is my first coffee so it's a bit more of an introduction for me. For more details just click on the blog titles and visit Suzanne and Rachel Anne. Thank you both for hosting!
This week has just flown by! I'm having a hard time believing it's actually Friday! The weather has been better this week. (#1) The kids went to school 5 days in a row this week. It was pretty quiet here.
(#2) I had 2 "coffee calls" with friends this week. The first was with a friend who used to live a mile away so we would get together for coffee often. Even when we couldn't get together we'd call each other and ask "got time for coffee?" It stuck! Now that she lives a little further away we still have our coffee calls. The next was with a friend I have known since kindergarten or maybe even longer. She provided the winter scene photo for yesterday's post.
The "Project" (#3) is going very well! I haven't been to Stuff Mart since mid-January! Pretty amazing! What am I doing with all the time I'm not at Stuff Mart? (#4) Couponing! I've taken up serious couponing. My previous attempts at using coupons consisted of cutting them out, leaving them at home and finding them under a pile of other papers after they have expired. However, with coupons in hand I cut 12% off my grocery trip this week.
Today is date day! (#5) Honey is off work and we are going to go do something without having to pay a sitter or having Sweet Pea call every 5 minutes asking when we are coming home!
Don't forget to visit Suzanne and Rachel Anne! Have a wonder weekend!

Our school kids around here were out almost the whole week! I am so ready for spring! I did couponing for awhile and saved a ton...however, since we have started eating more whole foods, etc. I have found I spent more time than I saved money and have fizzled out!
Have fun on date night, sounds fun! Have a great weekend!
I have not been successful at couponing - certainly never saved 12% off my food bill. Hopefully you will blog about your method some day.
How wonderful that you met with two friends for coffee talks. Too many moms I know severely neglect their friendships. And then end up depressed, lonely, angry, etc.
I forgot all about Rachel Anne's blog. I am heading over there next!
When I took the time to plan ahead, eat around the store special, coupon and shop at one store consistently, I did save quite a bit. Kudos for finding a system that works for you - those percentage savings add up over time!
Love your "coffee calls". So many people (er, me included)aren't that spontaneous, and are the worse for it.
Our schools haven’t been open 5 days straight this whole year (2011) because of snow, which is VERY rare in Alabama! But since I homeschool it hasn’t affected me. ha. Glad you had good times with friends this week. Always beneficial. Have a great date day!
Welcome to Company Girls! Ha, I LOVE the "Stuff Mart" reference! You inspire me to get busy with either my coupon stash or some other neglected project. Meanwhile, have a fun date day.
I just found the Home Sanctuary site, and her menu planning is what inspired me to clean out my pantry this week (one of my Friday Fave Fives).
Great job on the coupon savings! You've inspired me!
I've enjoyed reading through your blog, Jen.
I was doing very well with couponing but got sidetracked during the holidays and haven't started back. Thanks for the reminder!
It feels forever since we had a 5 day work and school week. I'm ready for spring!
Hope you have a wonderful time on "date day."
Your 'coffee calls' sound wonderful - what a great way to stay in touch. And that is amazing you saved 12% on your grocery bill with coupons! Hope you have a lovely date day, and a fun weekend!
I agree your coffee call sounds wonderful! What a wonderful idea. I have a friend that moved away who has been great about keeping in touch & I just appreciate that.
Sounds nice to have uninterupted non-drowsy time with the hubby! Yay for you guys!
Glad you were able to get together with friends -- always a boost! And date night! I need to schedule one of those with hubby.
I have the same pattern with coupons. :-) Maybe some day I'll get it together.
Well, you are very good to be couponing...even if I clip them I usually forget to hand them in! Hubby and I plan on having a date day on Monday..he's taking Valentines off cause he has to be away in the evening to teach. Hope you have a lovely date!
Hope you had a great date!
Good week ahead to you.
Good job couponing. I have friends who save bundles that way! Welcome to Coffee Girls;-)
Welcome to Fave Five! I love doing this Fave every week as it helps me keep my focus on gratitude.
Your 'coffee calls' sound great. I have something similar with my bff sister in law--we call each other every Tuesday.
Great discipline with the Project!
Coffee with friends and a date night. You've had a wonderful week. :v)
Date day is a great way to end the week! Hope you had fun. I started couponing this year too...not so much to save money but I think somethings are overpriced and not worth what is charged...but saving money is a big plus! Enjoy your weekend!
Amazing how those coupons can save a bunch. I love going to NC and visiting my daughter and cutting coupons. We don't have them here and maybe get one or two in the flyers but that is it.
Date days are wonderful I just had one with my husband a week ago. I'm glad you had a nice week.
Good for you for sticking to your plan! Glad you had some nice coffee calls. Enjoy your date day!
Ahhh...coffee calls sound lovely!
Enjoy your date!
Have a great week ahead.
I love chatting with my bff's and doing coffee....how awesome for you!! Have a great date nite....and a great week....
